Formulation Development Biopharma Named 2010 Eastern Regional Finalist for Small Business of the Year Award

WATERTOWN, MA – March 22, 2010 – (BUSINESS WIRE) - Wolfe Laboratories, Inc. (WLI) was named this year’s Eastern regional finalist for the DREAM BIG Small Business of the Year Award by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Wolfe Laboratories was selected from a record number of nationwide applicants based on its critical role in creating jobs in Massachusetts’ biopharmaceutical community, driving economic growth during a challenging recession, and innovative business practices which work towards improving human health. WLI was the only company representing the life sciences industry.

“These finalists are among the best small businesses in America,” said Thomas J. Donohue, U.S. Chamber President and CEO. “They are the nation’s doers, dreamers, and innovators. Their vision and hard work will help lift this country out of recession and create the 20 million jobs we desperately need in the next decade.”

To showcase Wolfe Laboratories and its commitment to the biopharmaceutical industry, Wolfe will be featured in the May issue of Free Enterprise magazine, with an exclusive interview from Janet Wolfe, Ph.D., President and Founder of WLI. Wolfe Laboratories will also be honored at America's Small Business Summit during a special Awards Luncheon on May 18, 2010 in Washington, D.C. During the luncheon, one of the seven finalists will be announced as the winner of the DREAM BIG Small Business of the Year Award and presented with a $10,000 prize courtesy of Sam’s Club.

During this prestigious event, Janet Wolfe will have the chance to meet with Massachusetts’ Senators, John Kerry and newly elected Scott Brown, to advocate for smarter policies that support American small businesses and discuss what these businesses need to succeed in today’s challenging economy. The Rally on the Hill sponsored by The Wall Street Journal will place Wednesday, May 19, 2010.
